INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole.
I thank whatever gods may be,
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance,
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears,
Looms but the Horror of the shade.

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

Above is a paragraph in Nelson Mandela’s favourite Poem which has inspired him while he was in prison fighting for Freedom and Equality.
INDEPENDENCE is something that our Seniors have fought and died for… Yet, we often forget the price that has been paid by them for letting us enjoy this FREEDOM.

In Toastmasters, we are not only learn about “How to Communicate better”, but we also learn “How to Lead other Peoples and OURSELVES to be a Better Person”, to Build Confidence, to Inspire and call peoples for action to achieve their dream and aspirations as high as they could, just like Nelson Mandela.

“In celebration of SG50 and Indonesia’s 70th Independence Day”, we are cordially invite all of you to join IPA Toastmasters Club August Chapter Meeting 7.3. Details are as attached.

A Toastmasters Chapter Meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their Communication and Leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.

There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
